With a career spanning over almost 2 decades, Nicky’s passion for music started at a very young age when he was introduced to the early rave scene by a neighbour, after countless hours listening to tapes from rave events he took the plunge and invested in his first set of turntables.

It was after this that he and a close friend would spend countless hours practicing and perfecting themselves before starting to do local kids parties in community centres. It was not long after this that Nicky met got introduced to a still very close friend James Davies, owner and promoter of the infamous Rasputins Vodka Bar in his hometown of Swansea. The two friends started working together as a duo and worked many local venues most notably holding a residency’s at Rasputin’s, Quids Inn, Engine Room, Juice Club & Play Nightclub, playing their own blend of dance music and soulful funky house, as well as playing guest slots at Zanzi-ba, Envy & Crobar.

After a brief stint abroad in 2004, Nicky returned to Swansea to take up a residency in Ice Bar on Wind Street, the mixture of commercial remixes and funky house music, it fastly became one of the main bars to attend on the street. As the times progressed Nicky found himself playing more of an upfront style of house music, which led to him taking up another residency at Ammanfords Tycoch Nightclub where his Friday Nights with Swansea Legend Big Al were a massive success, as well as his Saturday nights there, and led to him playing alongside many massive brands and DJ’s including Hed Kandi, Housexy & Dave Pearce to name a few. With the closure of Tycoch in early 2009 Nicky found himself looking for a change musically, which resulted in him joining forces with Swansea’s Bassline Alliance (SBA) while still holding down his residency at Ice Bar. Whilst with the SBA Nicky found himself playing many venues playing including Escape Swansea, Eden Port Talbot, Jimmys Bar Port Talbot and again at Crobar Swansea.

In 2011 Nicky was approached to join the resident team of this Swansea’s newest venue Club Oxygen, With the lure of a great residents team, a booming sound system and a high class stylish venue, he didn’t think twice about saying yes. After playing alongside some massive bookings including Laidback Luke, Funkagenda, Dave Spoon, Danny Howard, Judge Jules, Sonny Whartone, Pleasurekraft & My Digital Enemy plus many more. In early 2013 Nicky decided concentrate more on the production side of the business under his SplitGroove persona. With the prospect of more high profile bookings ahead and much more the future certainly looks bright for himself and the Oxygen team.

New Years Eve 2016 brought about the closure of Ice Bar ending a pairing that lasted over a decade. Not long after in February 2017 Savana Swansea was launched in the old Ice Bar premises, the venue comprised of new state of the art sound and lighting with a plush boudoir feel décor and set about to provide Swansea with the freshest House Music. Nicky took up a weekly residency here, whilst still holding down his commitments to Oxygen……….Fast forward to July 2017 and steps were put into motion for the launch of a new brand to hit the streets towards the later part of 2017, this along with the now infamous Rasputins Reunion’s hosted with close friend James Davies and his monthly appearances with the 100% Old Skool Team and things are looking bright.
