Justin started buying music when he was just 7 and his passion for all genres has never diminished. Being brought up in a household where music rather than TV was king, it gave Justin access to a wide range of musical styles that has continued
to influence him to this day. As a lover of all music, his passion for creating mixes or mixtapes started when recording the UK top 40 on a small cassette recorder and pausing the tape when the DJ spoke to create seamless musical mixes.

 

The emerging ‘rave’ scene across the UK meant that Justin was able to be part of a youth movement in its infancy, and he travelled to many of the parties around the UK, meeting people from all walks of life and experiencing the birth of dance music in the UK. From just being an attendee Justin soon started to collect dance music on vinyl, and was given the opportunity to ‘DJ’ for the first time by playing in the
Swansea University Student Union when he was 18, the chance to create a ‘vibe’ and to see crowd reaction inspired him to purchase his own decks a couple of years later, and from there his love of the whole scene has grown.

 

As a regular in Martha’s Vineyard at both the ‘Tick Tock’ and ‘Strictly Groovy’ nights, Justin witnessed some of the world’s biggest names plying their trade in little old Swansea, and his friendship with some of the resident DJ’s at these nights inspired him to play out himself. Playing parties with friends in Monkey, Mambo, Indigo and more, Justin has continued to enjoy the scene and seek out the more unusual and eclectic mixes of well-known tracks to offer something a little different than the often heard versions.

 

When Justin joined the 100% team because of his longstanding friendship with Greg P, it reinvigorated his love of the scene and gave him the opportunity once more to be part of movement that offered Swansea and beyond the chance to party to the best music around.
